Step into a deeply immersive vocal circle
Where melody, harmony and the vibration of the voice become pathways to connection, nervous system regulation, presence and release.
Through conscious breathwork (supporting the parasympathetic nervous system), mindfulness, vocal play, and accessible improvisation, we explore the therapeutic power of our voice in a supportive, welcoming group.
Open to all - no singing or musical experience is needed. No songs or parts to learn. No pressure, no spotlight.
This is not about performance or creating the perfect sound. It’s an opportunity for exploration, presence, self-expression and meaningful connection. We create together through gentle, easy improvisation and play.
Why Work With the Voice?
Our voices are far more than a means of communication — they are an expression of our energy, emotions and unique inner world.
Through humming, toning, sounding and playful vocal exploration, we gently release tension, deepen the breath and create space for greater calm, presence and self-expression. As we begin to let go of judgement and inhibition, the voice becomes a powerful pathway into creativity, confidence and connection.
Working with the voice is not about singing perfectly. It is about feeling fully alive. Through shared sound, breath and resonance, we reconnect with ourselves, one another, and the simple joy of expressing what is truly ours to express.

What to Expect
We begin by arriving together as a group, taking time to settle into the space, connect with our breath, and gently let go of the pressures of the outside world.
Through simple breathwork, mindfulness and vocal warm-ups, we'll gradually awaken the voice and prepare the body for expression. These practices help to release tension, deepen presence, and create a sense of safety and connection within the circle.
Together we'll explore vocal sounds, melody, harmony, rhythm and playful improvisation, discovering what emerges when we create music in the moment. You'll have the opportunity to explore your voice through a variety of simple sounds and vocal exercises, noticing how different vibrations feel in the body and experiencing the unique sense of connection that emerges when voices sound together.
Everything is simple and accessible, with the focus on our inner experience rather than outer sound. There are no solos, no pressure, and no musical experience is required. This is a guided, non-performance group experience where every voice is welcome.
Expect a blend of gentle guidance, creativity, laughter, reflection and shared sound. We'll move between moments of expression and moments of stillness, allowing space for both energy and integration.
This is a space for:
• Exploration and experimentation
• Play, creativity and self-expression
• Laughter and connection
• Conscious breathwork and meditation
• Nervous system regulation through breath and voice
• Moving through vocal blocks and restrictions
• Presence and deep listening
• Rhythm and resonance
• Courage, curiosity and compassion
• Emotional integration
As the circle unfolds, a grounded, calm energy begins to build, deepening connection to body, mind and soul — and opening into greater confidence and authentic self-expression.
Above all, this is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, your voice, and others through the simple yet powerful act of making sound together.
Location
This circle takes place at Plot 9 Community Garden, a unique and beautiful community garden and events space in Greenwich.

Angel Mawlabaux - singer-songwriter and therapeutic sound facilitator
About Me
My name is Angel and I'm a singer-songwriter, musician, and therapeutic group sound and voice arts facilitator.
With over 25 years of musical experience, and a distinction-level diploma in Group Sound and Voice Arts Therapy from the British Academy of Sound Therapy, I bring together musical depth, warmth, and therapeutic presence to create sessions that are creatively rich, emotionally safe, and carefully held. These circles are designed to offer meaningful moments of connection through music.
I understand how vulnerable it can feel to use our voices. There was a time when anxiety, fear and grief made it difficult for me to sing. I worried that if I opened my voice, I would also open the emotions I had spent years holding inside.
Yet as I gently began to work with my voice again, something unexpected happened. The tension and constriction I had been carrying started to soften. Self-judgement gave way to acceptance. Breath deepened. Energy returned. What had once felt frightening gradually became freeing.
That journey taught me that when the voice opens in a supported way, it can become a powerful pathway to calm, confidence, creativity and authentic self-expression.
It is now a privilege to guide others through their own exploration of voice, helping them discover that every sound has value, every voice belongs, and expression itself can be profoundly healing.
