Theme:
These two sessions on Sunday 12th and 19th May, will focus on creating an M-shaped Sound and Voicescape, which is a semi-structured improvisation using therapeutic sound instruments and the voice, designed to increase and release energy!
Please note, as the aim of this study is to measure the impact of a sound and voicescape on mood-state across both sessions, participants must be able to commit to BOTH dates: Sunday 12th May and Sunday 19th May, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
What to expect:
Beginning with a vocal exercises, warm-ups and rhythm games to bring us together and find our voices, the group will then work together to create a sound and voicescape that begins in quiet and stillness, and builds in layers of increasingly dynamic energy, exploring ebb and flow, light and shade, using a range of different instruments and vocal techniques.
I will provide a selection of instruments that are accessible and easy to play, including percussion, drums, bowls, chimes and more.
No musical skill or experience necessary!
Benefits:
Group sound and voice activities offer so many benefits to health and wellbeing, including enjoyment, creativity, expression, relaxation, community building, improved mental health, relaxation, deep breathing, exercising the mind, building relationships, and sharing something beautiful!
