Connect through rhythm
An immersive, guided drumming circle
Join us at The Bakehouse Theatre in the heart of Blackheath village, for an afternoon of rhythm, creativity, meaningful connection and play!
Together we'll create a shared pulse using simple, accessible drumming activities. We'll build rhythms as a group, explore improvisation, laugh, experiment and discover what becomes possible when everyone contributes their own unique beat.
Along the way, we'll weave in moments of mindful listening and conscious breathing, allowing the rhythm to help us arrive fully in the present moment.
Whether you're looking for creative expression, meaningful community, joyful music-making or simply a chance to do something a little different, you'll be warmly welcomed.
No performance. No pressure. No musical experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to join in.
Perfect for beginners
No drumming or musical experience is needed. Everything is taught in a supportive and accessible way. This isn't about getting it right—it's about enjoying the experience of creating music together.
Instruments
All frame drums and beaters are provided, although you're very welcome to bring your own!

What to expect
This is a gently facilitated, non-performance-based group experience. There are no complicated rhythms to master.
We’ll begin gently — arriving through breath and body awareness, and simple rhythm exercises, before getting to know the drums and easing into playful games to relax and get the laughter flowing.
Using frame drums, beaters and simple percussion instruments, we’ll explore beat, groove, listening and improvisation as a group in a way that is accessible, energising and deeply connecting. Expect a blend of guided techniques, improvisation, listening and spaciousness — with plenty of room for laughter, expression and flow.
Along the way, I’ll sometimes weave in other elements of sound and voice — singing bowls, chimes, other instruments, humming, toning — inviting different textures and ways of connecting into the circle. Everything is an invitation, and you’re always welcome to simply stay with your drum.
We’ll build energy together through improvisation created in the moment — listening, layering and finding a groove as a group. At other moments, we may soften into quieter sounds and spaciousness, allowing the energy to settle before building again.
As the circle unfolds, a grounded, calm energy begins to build, deepening into body, mind and soul — and opening into greater expression, release and connection.

Creative expression and play

About Me
I'm Angel, a Therapeutic Music Facilitator, musician and singer-songwriter. I create welcoming spaces where people come together through music, rhythm, voice, creativity and connection.
With over 25 years of musical experience, and a distinction-level diploma in Group Sound and Voice Arts Therapy from the British Academy of Sound Therapy, I bring together musical depth, warmth, and therapeutic understanding to create experiences that are creatively rich, emotionally safe, and thoughtfully held. These circles are designed to offer meaningful moments of connection through music.
My circles aren't about performance or perfection - they're about exploration, curiosity and playfulness in a supportive and inclusive space.
